I bought this after finding out that Don Enrique Reserve was no longer in operation.
I love this coffee. My first roast was a dark roast. The result was a strong flavor with a bitter edge to it that required copious amounts of honey and heavy cream to get under control.
I roasted my second batch to medium. It yielded a full-bodied cup, rich and smooth with notes of chocolate, and no bitterness. I highly recommend this bean.

Good easy go to cup of joe. I roast it to a positive city + and it makes a good robust cup. A lighter roast is acidic and I did not appreciate it as it cooled.

What a great coffee this is. You would have to blend 3 types of coffee to get something this good.
Rich, smooth, sweet, fruity and chocolaty and so savory. The best at medium++. Xlnt..

This is a wonderful Columbian coffee. I’ve ordered it several times—smooth with chocolate tones. This time I got 50 pounds! For me, it’s best with a dark medium roast. A lighter roast doesn’t taste as good; it’s grassy. Patrón makes a marvelous strong brew without removing your enamel.
My roaster is a skillet/stirrer model with a clear lid and a thermostat. I roast a single layer of beans until right at second crack. Don’t roast them black! Charcoal is not a good flavor profile.

I love most all the beans at CBC. Such a great place to source your green unroasted coffee.
This one is no different. I’ve had these beans since last spring and they still roast up very nicely using my SR800 with extension tube at a specific profile for 11-1/2 minutes just a way into second crack. Rested additional days in vacuum bags after a 3 day setup. Such a delicious coffee. A favorite Colombian I look forward to each morning.

Bright, fruity, and well balanced. Excellent body, deep, rich and complex. A nice chocolate background, just a hint of earthiness and satisfying finish. This coffee is most enjoyable.

I can taste the plum 18 to 24 hours after the coffee airs out. After 36 to 48 the coffee has more of a tang to it. I never had currants so it could be a currants taste flavor. I finding with three Columbian coffees i bought the coffee dances on the taste buds after 36 to 48 hours of airing out. The Columbian coffees fascinate me as far as flavor. Why the one is so expensive i do know but the others are a fair price and well worth buying.

Roasted past FC to a darker medium roast. A very well balanced cup, smooth complex with a chocolate finish. The beans quality was excellent, very even roast. With so many choices of great beans from CBC is hard to choose a favorite.

This coffee roasted to true medium brown is not good flavor when eaten with sweet food, but is a good sipping coffee. It is smooth, complex, with a slight chocolate finish.

I roast very dark. It is my favorite dark roast. I brew a double shot for a latte. The chocolate flavor from the dark roast compliments the froth and foam.

Rich, great flavor, balanced, wonderful aroma. This is an easy drinker. Nice sweetness. I can easily see this becoming our staple coffee at the cafe.

Roasted these for a total of 12 mins in my Hive Roaster and the plum notes showed up nicely, which made my wife happy! Happy wife = happy life!
I'll be ordering a big ol' bag of these as it's as advertised ... deep, rich, luxurious, decadent, long lasting, etc.
I went about 90 seconds past FC with these and I did all I could to slowly develop these up to AND after FC and I was rewarded greatly.
These may just be tied for the best Colombian beans I've ever had!

Excellent coffee. With the Maui Red Catui unavailable or ridiculously priced, I have been trying Costa Rican varieties. Good but not great. Recently I bought 20 lbs of this Columbia Reserva Patron del Narino just to experiment with because it seemed like a great price. I’m still trying to find my favorite roasting level but it has amazing flavor at the first and second cracks and everywhere between. Full, fruity and yes, well-balanced. I’m migrating back to Columbia beans.
