Do You Roast Organic Whole Bean Decaf Coffee Differently?

Roasting decaf green coffee beans follows the same process as caffeinated coffee beans, however it does take extra care to properly bring out the flavor. The decaffeination process makes the beans look visually different, looking darker and not having the same sheen of oil.

The main things to keep in mind when roasting green decaf coffee is that the beans will need to be roasted with less heat for a longer period of time. Beginning your roast with more air than you would caffeinated beans will also help you reach your preferred roast profile.
