This has become my go to coffee. I still love Ethiopian (misty valley) and True Mocca Java blend, but this has become the one I ALWAYS will have on hand. I like trying new coffees every time I order, but I will always have this one on the order form now. I roast it with Gene Cafe until it just starts second crack, then stop. It produces a wonderful espresso with a nicely sweet note. It's not acidic at all and yet is VERY flavorful. Highly recommend it.

What a treat to taste all the 18 Rabbit processes at once. The Black and Natural are some of the most complex but harmonious and sweet coffees ever. Natural is favorite, but Black, Red, Yellow and Washed all shine. The Black Honey is so deep and sweet! Beautiful -- and thanks for such a great opportunity to learn. Yay CBC!

I absolutely love this coffee. I’ve always loved the African coffees, i.e. Ethiopian and Kenya and especially Rwanda, although I still like trying new ones. But this is now one of my favorites. I especially like a light roast where I can pick out the fruit notes, and 18 rabbit black is one of the best for that. I roasted it just to the beginning of first crack and it was perfect for this one. The berry flavor is intense, yet no acid. Love this one!

Good finish, but way too lemony for my taste.

I didn't think I would get as good or better than an Ethiopian bean I had previously roasted but these beans produce a very flavorful and enjoyable cup of coffee. I roast my beans just past first crack so as to bring out the full flavor. Second crack seems be too dark a bean for my taste. I also don't go beyond about 400F to 410F degrees.

Wow. I roasted 250g of this to 30 seconds past first crack with my Kaldi wide 400. I rested it 4 days. All I can say is WOW. Very herbal and lemony start moving into intense Carmel with a slight chocolatie/floral finish. This one pleased everyone in the household which is hard to do. I’m buying 5 pounds!

Smooth, bold, balanced profile. If visitors from another galaxy dropped in and asked what is this coffee thing about? I would make them this.

I’ve been roasting 2.5# small batches for over 20 years. Have tried just about all beans from just about everywhere, and prefer the honey processed varieties. This batch is as good as I’ve found. Smooth with what I consider a perfect profile. Very easy and consistent to roast too. Will buy a bunch of this bean!

I bought a sample bag in the Valentine sale, but did not get around to roasting it for a couple of months. It was very tasty and chocolaty, but it was all sold out by then. I waited patiently for the next batch, and it is even better than the first batch, although less chocolaty. It is extremely complex, good for a sipping coffee as well as drinking with meals. Very robust, roasted to a true medium brown. Stir that whisk briskly in order to get most beans with even color, and trust your eyes at gauging when to stop. I made sure I got several pounds this time, as I am sure it will be a best seller. Do not worry if a couple of beans escape. If they are brown enough, you can put them in with the done ones.

This one's my fave, my go-to. I have a mean sweet tooth, and roasting beans myself allows me to make them as light as I want (caramel-colored when roasted, graham cracker color when ground). Smells like cookies when you grind them, though since I prefer light-as-can-be roast, I only use about a teaspoon's worth to make half a pot so I'm not up all night. Slightly citrusy (which I normally don't like), but a bit of cream rounds it out.

Roasting this bean in my Behmor with a manual profile, I get a very fruity cup without the overwhelming jamminess or acidity of some of the funkier natural beans. It has a bit of a tendency to runaway towards second crack with a very faint first crack, but when I nail that fully developed end of first crack roast it is a central pillar to my home espresso blend. This is easily one of my favorite coffees of the last couple of years of roasting!

The sweet, milk chocolate and stone fruit notes were prominent in both pour over and espresso. I found that pour overs had a softer acidity, but espressos had more of a citrusy acidity that I thought added a nice little pop to the cup, but wasn't too overpowering and went great with milk based drinks too.

Really surprising, chocolatey flavors. I roasted to City +. As an espresso, it had strong citrus flavors that were not really pleasant, but as a cortado with some milk and a touch of sugar, the sweeter flavors emerged. So no espresso for me on this, but it's a great coffee.

The first thing we noticed about these beans was the large amount of chaff floating around our Behmor roaster as the beans roasted. Other than that, the beans smelled so delicious, and the coffee was delightful. We will definitely get this again, as it is now one of our favorites.

Did two Roasts, one I stopped when first crack started and the other i allowed to go a minute after first crack stopped. Both were good, but I definitely liked the darker roast the best as the flavors really developed. I also noticed that it's a oilier than most.
A very good cup of coffee that is a very pleasant break from my regular goto's.

My taste buds are not refined enough to address subtle flavor profiles, but I will tell you this is one hell of a good coffee. In fact, I enjoy it so much that it may well become my goto brew, replacing Ethiopian Yirg. I highly recommend you try it, and I'll bet you won't be disappointed.

You know it's going to taste like heaven when you stand with your nose over the coffee grinder letting the smell of the freshly ground beans soak into your soul. I think this might be the one to drink black. It's incredibly sweet and fruity but still full-bodied at a full city roast. You could probably go much darker with this one and still retain the sweet flavor but there really is no need.

Roasted twice so far, once to a light-medium, and once to dark. I’ve tried this and the Natural version, and I prefer the natural, personally, for its extremely fruit-forward flavor and aroma. If you don’t prefer that, this one might be for you. I prefer this one as a dark roast, personally, but the natural 18 rabbit is perfect as a medium roast. The black honey process beans tend to look further along than they actually are. I’d advise going a little longer than usual.

Really yummy! I just started roasting coffee, which I do in my cast iron pan. This was my first batch of roasting, and I was not disappointed. So glad I found this website, delicious coffee has never been more affordable. :)

After many attempts with a BarWell Roaster, using 160 °C . I finally achieved a light roast without burning the beans. I used multiple roast sessions as to not over roast. The roaster's temperature gauge I decided was inaccurate.
I achieved nirvana with a wonderful sweet chocolate nutty aroma & smooth clean taste with zero bitterness from over roasting.
Recommending slow & low roasting <= 160°C. One must be very attentive & check the roasting frequently, it will be worth the effort.

RECEIVED THESE BEANS WITH GREAT EXPECTATION...WHERE SOMEONE GETS SWEET IS BEYOND ME.I DID NOTICE THE BEANS HAVE A TENDENCY TO ROAST ALMOST BLACK IN COLOR EVEN THOUGH I WAS VERY CAREFUL TO CONTROLL THE TEMPERATURE AND KEEPING THEM MOVING.
THE TASTE FOR ME IS VERY ROBUST,STRONG BUT NOT NOTICING ANY SWEETNESS EXCEPT FOR THE SUGAR I ADD & SOME WHIPPING CREAM.
ITS A GREAT CUP OF COFFEE THE BEANS SEEM FRESH ALTHOUGH WITH FREIGHT THEY COST $10.00 PER LB. I WISH I HAD A PLACE TO START A SMALL COFFE SHOP YOUR GLOBAL VARIETY OF BEANS WOULD CRUSH STARBUCKS!
